AAA Air Support Is International – China

AAA Air Support is proud to be an instrumental part of the growing international aerospace industry. Having established themselves firmly as a leader in the domestic market, AAA Air Support is increasingly making inroads in the global aerospace and aviation market.

Domestically, the United States leads the world in size when it comes to the number of both airports and aircraft.

“Among the most populous countries in the world, the United States is also the country with the highest number of airports. As of October 2019, there were over 20,300 airports in the country.”

However, outside of the United States, every nation in the world has airports and some level of aerospace and aviation industry and market. In fact, the world’s largest aviation markets outside of the U.S. in 2019 included:

  • India (322 million new passengers for a total of 442 million)
  • Indonesia (135 million new passengers for a total of 242 million)
  • Vietnam (112 million new passengers for a total of 150 million)

And the largest of those international markets is China with an anticipated 980 million traveler throughput by the end of 2022. The U.S., on the other hand, will see a figure between 950 million to 960 million.

Aerospace Industry in China

A country boasting 1.41 billion people and more than 65 cities with over a million residents, China is a natural leader in many aspects and that includes the aerospace and aviation industry.

According to the market research firm Martec,

“China is currently the second largest domestic aviation market in the world, in addition to being the fastest growing market with a year over year 9.5% passenger traffic growth rate. China is expected to take over the number one spot in the near future and presumably lead civil aircraft sales for the next 20 years.

Boeing has forecasted that China will need to add an additional 6,800 aircraft to its commercial fleet in order to handle the increasing demand. This has led to aircraft manufacturers like Boeing and Airbus to jockey into position, while maintenance repair and overhaul (MROs) are entering the market at various speeds.”

And the U.S. International Trade Administration concurs, noting that,

“China is the world’s second-largest and fastest-growing civil aerospace and aviation services market. Commercial opportunities in China’s civil aerospace and aviation services markets exist in virtually every subsector.”

So, how large is the aerospace and aviation industry in China?

Consider that, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), in 2020, China was home to 241 large commercial service airports, including three new airports:

  • Yulin Fumian Airport
  • Yutian Wanfang Airport, and
  • Chongqing Xiannu Airport

In 2020, the busiest airports in China were in Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Beijing, and Kunming.

And according to one source, in 2019, there were 6,134 civil aircraft in China, which represented an increase of more than 540 aircraft from the 5,593 units counted in 2017.

Airports and Ground Support in China

Although the annual passenger throughput in 2020 was just 860 million, an almost 37 percent decrease from 2019 due to COVID-19, there was an almost complete recovery of domestic air travel in the second half of the year.

As noted above, the CAAC plans to build more than 200 new airports while expanding many others in the next 15 years, with an expected total of 450 by 2035.

Given this rapid planned expansion of both domestic and international air travel, Chinese airports are making massive ground support equipment (GSE) investments for the increased efficiency and safety of airport operations.

This means that there are many new market opportunities for U.S. companies because of the growing demand for quality GSE in every aspect of aircraft and passenger and cargo servicing.

AAA Air Support Provides World-Class Products and Exceptional Service

We offer a wide variety of aerospace parts and other metal supply services. We specialize in aerospace roll forming. Roll forming is a process that uses a coil or strip of metal, which is continuously passed through shaping rollers and dies to form the desired profile.

We can manufacture roll form products using various grades of aluminum, steel and titanium and we can produce roll form in sections up to 75 feet in length, custom “one off” sections, and multiple production runs.

Our approach to product shipments is intensely “hands on,” systematized, and success driven.

Before your product ships from our facility, we have taken strict measures to guarantee that all materials are properly certified, preserved and packed in compliance with each customers’ specific requirements. Our proprietary packing standards far exceed industry basic criteria.

We are proud of our relationships with our loyal customers. These include Korean Aerospace Industries, Spirit AeroSystems, United and American Airlines, and Turkish Aerospace Industries.

In addition, we work closely with multiple international and domestic MRO Organizations. In addition, AAA Air Support actively participates in multiple projects for Boeing Commercial Aircraft, including many of their Aircraft on Ground (AOG) subsidiary jobs.

No matter whether you need 100 feet of an aluminum alloy product, or just a few sheets of clad aluminum, AAA Air Support promises to always ship out your part orders quickly and efficiently.

Our goal always is to provide your company with the means to complete that project or get that airplane off the ground and back in the air.
