AAA Air Support Is International – Turkey

    Posted by Aidan in Uncategorised.

AAA Air Support has a distinguished reputation as a significant part of the growing international aerospace industry.

Building on their established leadership in the domestic aerospace market, AAA Air Support is making great strides in the global aerospace and aviation market, as well.

In the realm of international aerospace players, the United States continues to lead the world when it comes to the sheer number of its airports and aircraft.

For example, according to data from Statista,

“In 2020, the United States contributed some 80.9 billion U.S. dollars in aerospace exports. Thus, making it the leading country in terms of aerospace exports. The country is home to some of the leading manufacturers in the aerospace sector, including Boeing and Lockheed Martin.”

Along with the United States, there are dozens of nations in the world with both domestic and international airports, along with varying degrees of aerospace and aviation industry participation.

And, along with the leading nations such as the United States, there are also several other large commercial aviation markets across the globe, including Turkey.

    Aerospace Industry in Turkey

The growing passenger traffic in the country is propelling the demand for new commercial aircraft, according to Mordor Intelligence, from the airlines operating in the country like Turkish Airlines, SunExpress, Pegasus Airlines, Onur Air, Corendon Airlines, and Anadolujet,

One result of this growing passenger traffic is an increasing demand for new commercial aircraft in the country.

According to the International Trade Administration’s website, some of the most prominent opportunities for U.S. aerospace exporters and supplies include aircraft (rotary and fixed wing) parts and components, as well as:

    ● Electronics / avionic parts and components

    ● Engines, engine parts and components

    ● Electro-optics

At the start of 2022, according to an article from Daily Sabah, Turkey celebrated,

“…the opening of some 16 new factories at the Ankara Aerospace and Aviation Specialized (HAB) Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ), which continues its activities on an area of 730 hectares (1,804 acres) right next to TAI as Turkey’s first specialized OIZ in the defense industry.

HAB aims to support the domestic industry in the fields of space flight and aviation, bringing together local and foreign companies to create synergy, and to produce high value-added products and increase exports.”

The Daily Sabah story went on to report that as of January 2022, there were 18 facilities in the HAB OIZ that had been completed and invested in by industrialists, and 57 facilities that were still under construction.

When the Ankara Aerospace and Aviation Specialized (HAB) Organized Industrial Zone is completed, it will host 300 enterprises, 150 of which will be industrial enterprises, and close to 15,000 people will be employed.

Airports with Ground Support in Turkey

In 2019, passenger figures reached 123 million domestic passengers and 100 million international travelers. Sources forecast up to 180 million domestic passengers and 170 million international passengers by the end of 2023, however.

The five largest international airports in Turkey are:

Istanbul Airport is an international airport serving the city of Istanbul in Turkey. According to its entry in Wikipedia, “It served more than 37 million passengers in 2021, making it the busiest airport in Europe and 13th-busiest airport in the world in terms of total passenger traffic and by serving more than 27 million international passengers the 2nd-busiest airport in the world.”

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport is one of two international airports serving Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey. The airport was named after Sabiha Gökçen, adoptive daughter of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and also the first female fighter pilot in the world.

Antalya Airport, another Turkish international airport that serves Turkey’s Antalya province. According to Germany’s Fraport Group, which operates the airport, “Passenger numbers at Antalya Airport, on the Turkish Mediterranean coast, jumped by 82.5% to 2.1 million in the first three months of 2022 from 1.1 million in the same period a year earlier.”

Ankara Esenboğa Airport is an international airport serving the capital of Turkey in Ankara. It is located 28 km north of the city center. AirFleetRating notes that, “It is one of the country’s busiest airports serving over 15 million passengers annually of which 13

million are domestic passengers.” This makes it the fourth largest airport in the country in terms of passenger traffic.

Adnan Menderes Airport is an international airport serving in the province of Izmir. It takes its name from Adnan Menderes, who was the prime minister between 1950-1960. The airport’s own website notes that passenger numbers peaked at just over 13 million in 2018. Their post-COVID numbers were 7.67 million passengers in 2021. The airport is owned by the State Airports Authority and operated by TAV Airports.
